This vintage pencil skirt is one of those lucky charity shop finds that pops up now and again.
A perfect fit.
A classic, but colourful, pattern.
A gorgeous fabric (wool).
Well finished and beautifully lined.
A real gift!
Today I decided to try it with this purple peplum top.

The top shares none of the virtues of this skirt... in fact, you could spit peas thorough it!
This top was also found in a charity shop, for £3.00.
A fair price I would say.
It even had it's original shop tags attached... £28.
Someone is having a laugh there!
When did palming off poor quality items at inflated prices become okay?
No wonder so many of us are such savvy shoppers and seasoned bargain hunters.
We don't appreciate being ripped off!
I paired the skirt (and top) with a few simple black pieces to give a wintery feel, and ground the whole look.
Popping on black over-the-knee boots and a thermal polo-neck.
A vintage leather tie made the perfect belt!
I love the look of OTK boots with a knee length hemline.
There is something very 'covered-up-sexy' about them.
These boots have such a lovely almond toe, and a real early 90's vibe.
That is because they are from the 90's... I know, because I bought them!

My fishbone necklace was the ideal finishing touch.
It snuggled into my neckline, not standing out too much.
Catching the light now and again.
Subtle but fun.
When I was wearing my pink leather gloves (without my coat) my husband said it looked like I had just come outside in the middle of doing the washing up!
I couldn't stop laughing.
{He is cheeky}
Hahahaha...
I must admit, he does have a point!
These gloves have been renamed my 'Marigolds'... I still love them though.
SKIRT: Vintage Windsmoor...this is nice.
