Transitioning a Summer Slip Dress | Autumn Layered Outfit
Here is a quick and easy way to transition almost any summer dress into those cooler months.
With the addition of some clever layers.
Today I'm wearing a simple slip dress with a long shirt dress over the top.
These midi-length shirt dresses can look a little matronly, especially if you have a decent sized bust.
However, if you open it up and wear it as a duster all matronly-ness disappears!
How easy is that?
{I've had issues with this slip dress in the past... read about them HERE but I'm not ready to give up on it just yet!}
I'm wearing this slip dress with a silk under-top today.
It's comfortable and cosy.
Popping a shirt dress over the top gives both lump-coverage and valuable warmth.
Canvas ankle boots add a tougher edge and a chunky necklace finishes things off nicely.
Such a simple way to get more wear from your wardrobe.
If you pop on a pair of chunky leather ankle boots and a fine knit top you're ready for those cooler autumn days.
Adding warmer boots (maybe even knee boots), tights, a full-length slip and a fine gauge polo neck would make it a great winter look.
No shopping required!
How are you transitioning your wardrobe into the cooler months?
I'd love to know your tricks!
